Why It Matters — For Clinicians, Patients and Communities

When clinicians are supported, connected and confident, the ripple effects are profound. Clinical Connect builds trusted, evidence based small group learning, so and clinicians act together, not apart. The result: clearer guidance, smarter decisions, and healthier whānau.

That’s the impact of Clinical Connect —it keeps growing.

“I am part of a multidisciplinary group, so that also allows me to see the world through the pharmacists’ eyes and that sort of thing, which is always invaluable” Practice Nurse

Since mid-2023, we’ve been measuring the impact of Clinical Connect more intentionally. Our second Impact Report showcases collaboration, growth, and tangible outcomes across Waitaha Canterbury.

Our peer education programme is making a real difference, helping clinicians strengthen their practice, apply evidence-based knowledge, and deliver better care for patients and whānau.

The professional is smiling and holding a blood pressure cuff while the patient has their arm extended. There is a computer, hand sanitizer, and framed pictures in the background.

2024 Report

The 2024 Clinical Connect Impact Report shows how our peer education programme supports clinicians and strengthens primary care across Waitaha Canterbury. Clinicians meet in small, trusted groups to share evidence-based knowledge, reflect on real clinical cases, and reduce variation in practice. The outcomes demonstrate the measurable difference Clinical Connect makes in everyday care for patients, whānau, and communities.

2023 Report

Tū Ora 2024 Report

The 2023 Clinical Connect Impact Report demonstrates how small group peer education supports clinician knowledge, capability, and confidence. Through regular peer discussion and shared learning, clinicians strengthen collaboration across teams and apply evidence more consistently in practice. The result is a more connected and resilient primary care workforce.

The inaugural Tū Ora Compass Health Clinical Connect Impact Report highlights the growth and measurable impact of the programme across the Tū Ora region in Wellington. Delivered in partnership with Pegasus Health, participation has grown from 26 clinicians in 2020/2021 to 320 attendances in 2024/2025, reflecting the value placed on this peer-led education model.

Guided by an evidence based impact measurement framework, the programme continues to support stronger clinical decision making, peer connection, and a confident primary care workforce.
